R18 wheels for B8

Hi there,

What would be the width of the rims for R18 - 8J or 8,5J? And what type of tires should I pick 245/40 or 265/35 ?

I have an 2009 59 plate B8 Avant Sline with 18" x 8J wheels with 245/40 tyres

The S4 of the same vintage has the same but with 18" x 8.5J wheels, but that may be made possible with the larger arches.

I'm running some 8.5 x 18 ET35 BBS CH Black wheels with 245 x 40 x18 for my winter set on a 2010 S-line Avant Quattro with no issues.

Yes Guys tyres are 245/40- R18
I am looking for new tyres too due to upgrade my wheels from the basic 16" to 18"
I am not very happy with the factory fitted Michelin HP but done around 20K on them and still very good :) possibly of the quattro.
I am trying even to sell the tyres in gumtree.com but due to the size of 225R16 not 205R16 not many calls :aargh4:
