:1zhelp: Has anybody had an annoying vibration on their passat which occurs around 1500 to 2000 rpm and dissapears above 2000 rpm. I have tried putting foam behind my air box and screwing the cold air feed onto the top of the air box, both advised by vw, but the vibration continues. I would like to sort this as it is preventing me from enjoying my car which I have only owned for 6 months.

I've recently bought a 2002 TDi 130 and have noticed the same sort of vibration between 1200 and 1600 rpm, in any gear. I'm intending to check the plastic engine cover and heatshield(s) as mentioned elsewhere on these forums, but was just wondering if you'd had any joy with resolving it yourself?

After some investigation, the source of my annoying buzz has been located - it was the air duct vibrating against the air cleaner cover because the connection to the air cleaner box was worn and loose. So until I can get to the dealer after Christmas I've wedged it with some rags - peace and quiet at last

Merry Christmas all!
