Rear Brake Squeek!!

Does anyone have any ideas???? When I'm driving or stationary and press the brake pedal as i take my foot off there is a loud squeek from the back underside of the car. Similarly if i pull the handbrake on as I take it off there is the same squeek. I have stripped both rear drums down on my mk3 golf(1994) but still the squeek continues!! If the hand brake is on and I press the brake pedal no noise - I don't want to needlesley start spending money on every brake component any ideas - why would the foot brake and handbrake both make the same noise????????

strange for both to make same nosie as there ment to use different sides of the brake shoe's,i take a guess at your drum's having grown past maximum spec! thus causing the shoes to being moving to far to hit the braking surface!
