Hi guys. I'm a newbie here, so please excuse my ignorance if I post incorrectly. In my naievity, I just purchased 4 17" alloy wheels under part No 8KO 601 025 C for my 2005 3.0 TDi Quattro S-Line. I checked with the local audi garage and was advised that these came off the new B8 platform and had an offset of 47 and they should fit.
However, I have now discovered that the Hub bore of the new wheels is 66.6 whereas the B7 platform is 57.1. Has anyone had any experience of using Spigot rings. Do they work? Are they safe? Do they wear out and need regular replacement? Are some Spigot rings better than others - any recommendations?
Also as the new alloy wheels are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE 050A 245/45 R17 95Y Tyres which are wider than the current 235/45 R17 is there likely to be a problem with clearance.
