My Sharan is going into storage for a few months due to a turbo failure and my finances will not stretch just yet to fix it.
Unluckily for me I filled the fuel tank up, and only drove 10 miles down the road. As fuel is very costly at the moment, I'd like to drain this if I can and use it in the wife's car. £70 of diesel will go a long way in her car!
It has been suggested that remove the fuel sender unit and syphon from this area, but upon having a quick look in the back of the car, removing various seats, I cannot locate the access panel to this. I've removed mats etc, but no suggestion of an access plate or how to get to it.
Does anyone know where the access panel can be found on this car? Alternatively is there a better way to remove fuel from it? I understand there is an anti theft gauze in the fuel inlet so haven't tried this way.
