warning light

Hi all i am new to the site so forgive me if this has already been covered. I have an 02 VW Passat 1.8T 20v SE. while out and about today the car started to run quite rough as if not firing on all cylinders then the emission warning light started flashing i drove home steady. Any ideas much apreciated also is it safe to drive 26 miles to nearest vw garage?

prolly a coilpack failed, have the car scanned for faults to confirm.

if kite is right, which he probably is, then a failed coil pack and a 26 mile drive may result in a burnt out cat. not worth the risk imho.

Will the AA be able to scan it?

I think the AA carry coilpacks, thats how often they fail !!!!
