I checked the coolant on my car the other day, it was about 2 cm below the minimum line, unfortunately I had to use to the car and didn't want to top it up with water as it was -8 so risked it :Blush2:. When I got back (100 mile round trip on the motorway) the coolant was about 1 cm below the minimum line (assuming due to expansion). The car is 15 months old and low mileage (7k) and was serviced 3 months ago. I noticed the coolant level was on minimum right up to the last service (September) but haven't checked it since. Is it normal for a new car to lose coolant? What's the consensus? Take the car in the get the system pressure tested?

Hi there;

Mine did not use any from new, but there's a few 'possibles' here e.g. did they put correct level in when last serviced etc? but in any case; I would get it checked out by the dealer. Some things really aren't worth risking :o) and even if they say 'nothing wrong' - at least you have some reassurance.
