lower A4 Avant 97 advice

Hi
I have a A4 avant "97"

I want to lower it and go up a wheel size, also i want to stiffen it up a bit by useing strut brace.

Seen this pic on ebay http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj7/lucysmom_2008/audiyellow.jpg and want my car to have the same stance. How much would i have to lower it by and what size wheels are in the pic.
What do i need to do this

Any other advice on lowering my car would be greatful appreicated

I'd say they are rs4 18" wheels.

I have the same on my 1.8 A4 and lowered both the front and rear by around 4" on Spax coilovers. They only cost around £250 on flea bay. All in, took around a day to do the front and rear with a few minor adjustments over time to personal preference of ride height. I have had them on for 5-6 months now and i'm really happy with result for such a reasonable price.

Obviously the rears on an Avant will be different to a non-avant model but I wouldn't have thought would take any more time.
There are a few write ups on how this is done in other forums if you have a good search, the only hiccup I came across was a seized bolt holding the upper arms to the strut at the front. Had to take the strut off at the hub carrier to get round this.

I got my coilovers from here http://www.auto-motives.biz/suspension/?osCsid=vdtt6v3nf5tf5n3o242r6h0613, soz not spax ones, jamex was the make :Blush2:. They were 228 quid and good quality. I never had to buy anything else to improve ride quality. I wouldn't set them to lower than 4" on 18 inch wheels though.
