OK i have an audi a3 2.0 fsi... Driving along and my car broke down apparently engine coils 3 and 4 needed to be changed. I took it to a garage (apparently audi specialist) and they changed these two coils. It still had the light showing so i changed the other two as advised. After changing all the coils and spark plugs the light is still showing. How do i clear the light? Ive had the codes cleared twice now.

They also disconnected the battery which has now left my ESP light on???? and also my ESP switch is not working...... i am very confused and dont know what to do?

Dont ever use Wotton Road garage!

You need the fault codes you have clearing, then drive the car and see if any of them return. If they do, get the full fault code numbers/details then you can start to diagnose any codes that remain.

Without seeing the car and checking its codes anything else is total guesswork.

Thanks for that... I have had it reset twice now and all 4 coils changed and the light came back on after about 4 miles. The ESP switch is a mystrey it was the garages fault on it coming on and they cant clear the code, aparently today i spoke to them and will be sending me all the diagnostics codes... They spoke about having an external sensor put onto a part of the system? I have paid them money to clear a light and now my car has two lights on.... Is it best just to go to a audi garage and pay another £141 for a diagnostics from them?

NEVER USE Wotton Road Garages they are not audi or vw specialists.

Personally, no I'd never pay that for a simple code scan. You need the car scanning for a list of it's CURRENT fault codes, codes generated and read in the past arent much use - you need to know its current fault state. Anyone with VAGCOM/VCDS can read the codes, its takes a few minutes and plenty of people here have it.

Look through the VAGCOM thread and see if there is anyone in your part of the world who can scan it for you........
