Bluetooth phone prep high with privacy handset

I have the MMI 2G with Bluetooth phone prep 'high' and privacy handset. Every day I have to keep resetting the language of the handset back to English and it's getting annoying. Surely it should hold the setting, instead of defaulting back to German?

Things I've checked with VCDS:


MMI Control head language set to English
Instrument Cluster language set to English
Telephone language set to English

The battery in the handset is also fine and will last for days even with the handset switched on and out of the car.

Anything else anyone can think of? When setting the language back to English; it's done on the handset itself.
