hi all, just a quick question,on the passat b5.5 there are two readings for the mpg, what do you have yours set on

One of the readings has a "1" symbol beside it which means mpg for the current driving session.
The other reading is mpg since it was last reset.
Is this what you mean?

I usually leave mine on the distance left before refill is needed.

The number 2 setting is cumulative but will re-set itself every 5,000 (I think) miles.

Both are running, I just look at whichever is appropriate.
I get about 35mpg average on number 2 mostly urban and rush hour.

I have noticed with mine it resets when the Hours running reaches 99 hours and 59 Minutes it resets all of the No.2

Are you Pressing the reset button momentarily?

Pressing and holding resets the totals

Reading 1 re-sets if the car is not driven for over 2 hrs, reading 2 re-sets over 1000 miles

That Is strange. Do you have access to Vcds? I don't remember a setting though to enable or disabel it I will try and have a look on mine at a later date and see if I can find a setting some time for you. Regards steve
