Chaps,

Just noticed this evening when leaving and locking car lights did not stay on.

Got home later and pulled key out and lights went out.
Locked and then unlocked and no lights.

Follow me home is checked as yes and timer on 30 secs.

Any ideas???

Service on Monday so it will get sorted then.
This is the first blip since new and the service will be only the second visit the first being the MMI update.

Great motor still.

I found exactly the same tonight!

When I checked it was simply the coding for the Coming Home etc has been turned off in the MMI presumably when the car was in for the 3G software upgrade. :biglaugh:

Sorry...doesn't help you does it.

Have you tried turning them off in the MMI and then back on again?

Thtat was my thought that it been tampered with when the MMI update was done.

I did turn it on and off, but I may try a reboot as well.

Cheers Scotty, as ever very helpful.

Any others noted this after the MMI visit.

Stand down troops.........

Just twigged the lights didn't come on in bright fog earlier in the week and I turned them on.

Switched back to Auto this morning and 'hey presto' normal service resumed.

Aha !!

I didn't realise coming home/leaving car/etc only worked with auto !

I'm always in auto anyway .... apart from the other day I enabled "kerb lighting" and was testing it and found I couldn't turn off the headlights at all. I'd flipped the wrong bit in VCDS :D

bit of a tangent but what did you think of the kerb lighting ?
once enabled in VCDS can you switch in on and off from MMI screen ?
keep thinking i should try turning it on but haven't got round to it yet - too bloomin cold to go fiddling around out in the car in the evening is my exuse !

Well the first thing I do when fiddling is to put the heated seat on :D

I put the kerb lighting on the other day and have only done one journey with it in the dark. I have white fog bulbs (to match the xenons) and hence the light output blends in. When I looked for it I could just see the difference.

Is it worth doing? I'm not sure but it's something to play with for a bit. ;)

It's not an MMI controllable option. It's simply if you're travelling @ 40kmph or less then it becomes active when you turn etc.
