what lights should i see at startup?

i have some bulbs out, but when you turn the ignition to position 1, i get:

airbag light
brake light
fuel light
abs light

and..

flashing oil light
flashing temp light

Why are these lamps flashing? is this usual?

im trying to find a video on youtube of someone elses a4 on startup to see if this is normal.

i get no lamps on when its running.

Your missing a Check Engine light, assiming the car is 96 or later.

The lights flash to draw your attention to them. The oil pressure light is flashing because the key is on and the engine isn't running so you have 0 oil pressure. Don't know why the temperature one flashes, but my 96 A4 does the same thing. Usually it means the level is low in the surge tank, or the engine is overheating but mine will do it if the engine is stone cold and the key is on and the engine off.
