Engine Management Light doesnt come on

Hi

Can any body help with this problem?

My Engine Management Light doesnt come on at all when I turn the egnition on, on my 1999 1.6 VW Golf?

please let me know?

Does the engine start? If so then the bulb for the warning light must've blown. If the engine doesn't start then there can't be any power going to the engine management system.

I would agree with John, does the car seem to run ok, no misfire of anything, it could be as simple as a bulb blown.. I would get the car put on a diagnostic machine just to check for faults.

Hi

Yes, the engine does start and run, however, you are quite right it does misfire. The engine is always humming. I never realised the engine management light would be effected by that though.

I recently got a diagnostic check done on the car and the only thing that came up was the oxygen sensor. However, even after changing this, the oxygen sensor still came up on the secondary diagnostic check.

What is the best thing for me to do? Im not too experienced with cars.
