VW T4 Transporter 2.5 tdi

I have an 02 reg VW Transporter Tdi T4 2.5 1200 Recently, I have noticed a whistling noise which I think is coming from the turbo at higher revs. I have not really noticed a drastic lack in power, but the whistling noise is quite annoying. The whistling noise gets higher in pitch as I rev the engine more... What is this? Air Mass Meter? sensor? Thanks for any help!

I think this noise is just your turbo whistling - it is perfectly normal, I have the same van and I would be worried if I didnt hear the whistling of the turbo. the noise is not discernable with all the windows closed but easily heard with them open.

It's probably just turbo whistle - one of the things I really loved about my T4 when it was working hard - something I miss with the T5 !

Or an intake leak, high pressure air escaping.
