VW Sharan - Boot Sensor

Dear Fellow VWers, a quick story and perhaps some answers to follow.

Just had my VW Sharan 1997 1.9TDi serviced and MOT'd.
Had a failure on the centre rear brake light due to wiring break.
Got that fixed, but mechanics left it very messy and I am wondering where the boot Sensor switch is situated, the reason being is the
Dashboard shows boot is open even when closed, and when I apply central locking, after 10mins the alarm is activated. anyone any clues, I am taking it back in the morning to get fixed and would like some ammunition to confront the mechanics with.:aargh4:

The tail gate trim has to be removed to access the high level light and the micro switch for the boot lock is behind the trim which was removed

For the readers the above problem has been solved, some very messy wiring, which when replaced correctly, allowed the sensor switch to work correctly.
