Dents8 did a superb job of removing a ding on my front wing and very reasonable.

Yes I was a bit surprised as well . My brother in law saw it somewhere and said that would be handy for me , when I told him mine did not have this a bit of further research threw up the website I have attached.

Well I'm a member of myturbodiesel so I shall have to ask chitty and I'll ask our bodywork section at work.

So cariad if it is bolt on are you going to buy one and get it painted then bolt it on? ;)

The only problem there would be the body/paintwork warranty - wouldn't the work have to be done by a VW-approved body-shop?

I'd imagine this guide will be suitable for the Mk6 Cariad :

I don't think the Mk6 golf has bolt on door skins. The Mk5 & Jetta do though. It was a great idea, designed to stop all those water leak problems that were so common on the Mk4s. VW must like water leaks because they have gone back to the Mk4 style window regulator panel, only worse because the panel on the new cars is a horrible flexible plastic rather than aluminium like the Mk4s had. Only time will tell if the water leak problems are going to return with this new setup.

that was the plan. failing that what do you reckon on my chances of finding a rear passenger door in silver leaf :(

I posted on there but there have been no replies yet.

I doubt you'll find a silver one as they all come in base primer.

I've just had a look in ETKA and they show the doors with all fitments but no seperate skin. Obviously companies will make them as a replaceable item in case of damage. So its looking expensive when it wasn't your fault. ;)
