Depends on the OP's budget and wether he wants OEM kit or not, but there are several options for the A8.

only if the mmi sw version is below 3460 will you need to update to allow ami integration but its always worth updating the system anyway to the final 2g release

you retain the 6 disc changer so you can use the ipod or the 6 disc changer, also the ami allows full control via mfsw plus all artist and play lists are displayed

the ami will mount in the glove box similar to the 6 disc, you can order a new glove box (additional cost) or cut the compartment out next to the 6 disc

Naviservice in Poland do a fine aftermarket one for only 160 nicker. All looks very simple in the video they have on their site. Not got one but next on my shopping list.

Eaxactly the route I will be taking some time after xmas. Just have to find a dealer or specialist that will fit it close to me noiw ;) The good thing about this systems is that info is all through the MMI system and not through some cheapo aftermarket controller, and all info is on screen (so i'm led to beleive). I looked down the Dension route, but this looks far better...
