What oil for 2.0 T FSI Petrol?

Hi,

My A3 2.0L T FSI (Petrol) has previously had a long life service, which I believe uses different oil.

I could do with some "top up" oil. Does anyone know what sort to use?

I have checked the manual but that just gives a VW code so unless I go to the dealer I won't know what to get. Previous service invoice only give a code so I cannot go from that either.

I was planning on getting some from elsewhere, rather than going to the dealer as I will probably get ripped off?

You just need one that meets VW spec. 504.00. It will say this on the can if it does.
E.g. Castrol edge 5w-30
Mobil 1 Esp 5w-30
