I have a 7 year old Sharan that cuts out when the engine is warm. It has been checked for all 'known' VW faults but it doesnt cut out for long enough for the diagnostic test to find the problem. It has had a new Hall sensor, cleaned throttle body and a few other things but the problem remains.
There is an odd smell when it cuts out.
Having spent £600 and given its age I am thinking of scrapping it! But would prefer not to as it is much loved.
Can anyone help or suggest what to try. One suggestion is an exhaust problem?
