Hi guys,

I have a '04 Reg passat 1.9TDT 130Bhp, winter & climate pack fitted.

The past two weeks, seems to be when heavy rain, I have totally lost my temperature gauge & the fuel gauge took about 25mins driving to show the correct level. This seemed to sort itself out until today when I lost the temp gauge again, also in pretty bad weather.

I have felt the carpet under the passenger seat & cannot discern any noticeable dampness, I'm unsure if it's necessary to remove the carpet to check further for the dreaded footwell flooding?

I have also lost the electronic boot lock, it will click from the switch on the drivers door & does nothing using the keyfob.

Any suggestions?

I'm not loaded (unemployed,) so desperately trying to avoid a garage bill :(

A code-read with a VAG tool is best, it will show whether you have sensor or wiring problem, if not, suspect the cluster itself.

In the meantime, make sure waters not getting in
the drivers-side, where the ECU loom goes through
the bulkhead, leaves etc can redirect rainwater to
where its not welcome.
