Hi

I hit a bollard on saturday and have managed to dent the sill.

Does anyone know if there is a way of getting round the back of the sills so i can push the dent back out?
Or anyway I could repair it without having to take it to a garage?
I have Gti skirts I am going to fit anyway so i just need it flat enought to fit them the car is still driving ok and is not bent etc

No, it has to be pulled out using a weld on dent puller and heat.

I agree, weld on dent puller is the best way and cheapest. Will leave holes where the pins are welded so Ideally it will need paining and re-primed.

We use it all the time in the garage

is the dent to the rear of the sill? also is it a 3 door golf?
if so you may be able to get at it by removing the rear card in the interior and you may be able to push it out with a block off wood as i changed my interior the other day and while chnging the rear card (3 door) i noticed that the rear portion of the sill is accessible by removing the polystyrein blocks in the rear qtr panel.

hope this helps
