I have a problem with my VW Polo Climatic Control system, can you help?

I drive a VW Polo Tdi (02 plate, 70,000 on the clock). When the temperature is set at 18 degrees, it blows out either very hot or cold air, there is no constant temperature. Also when the ac button is pressed, it does not light up or blow out lots of air. Can you help or offer advice. Thanks in advance

The AC button seems to be working fine now, fixed itself somehow. But I've still got the problem of hot air blowing out even when set at a cool level.

Long time reader, first time poster.
Just wondering if you got this problem fixed, or anyone else knows how to fix it. I read somewhere it probably a sticking hot/cold flapper, but does anyone know where it is?
