Changing heater blower motor

I have a 98 Passat TDi & need to change the heater/aircon blower motor. Do I have to remove the passenger side airbag & if so how? I already have the glovebox out. Any help appreciated,

I'm not sure about the AC version, but my non-ac version you just took the glovebox out and it was accesable. 2 screws on the bottom and it drops out.

Why are you changing it? Has it stopped working? If you take the motor out and diassemble it you might find the carbon brushes are shot. You can turn them round to keep you going a while longer but it'll make a buzzing sound. New brushes are about £8 on ebay.
