Towsure do decent home fit kits with fixed or detatchable (for the no towhitch look) towballs http://www.towsure.co.uk . Remember to ask if the bumper needs cutting, messy.

I got one for a MK3 golf, 2 days for delivery and an hour to fit. They do just about every model.

Thanks for that Paul, I've had a look at the site and like the idea of a detatchable tow hook, just a bit expensive though; the detatchable upgrade nearly doubles the price to £200.

I have an 02 1.8T Estate and need a towbar. I don't like the idea of cutting the rear valance, having seen cars with large, unsightly cutouts. I also don't like paying the local VW Ventura £77.00 per hour (their figure) to fit the official version. Anyone fitted a good one -12N only - to an estate?
