Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good window tinter in the Reading/Basingstoke area, am prepared to go to Southampton or Portsmouth if they're decent, quality and pricewise.

There was a local one I used for my previous car but it came back with some minute bubbles in which he said he couldn't avoid and wouldn't guarantee against if he was to do it again. I also found, after taking the car home, a couple of paint chips which weren't present previous to taking it to him :zx11: and these were on the top side of the bodywork to the rear so clearly not done by stones, obviously denied it, so not going back or recommending them!

Cheers

Thanks for the link mate, but they're a bit pricey for me, especially as it doesn't include the front driver/passenger windows.

you can only apply a very slight tint to the front windows anyway, anything beyond a certain % of light restriction is illegal.

one thing I will say is, decent window tinting is expensive. You can go cheap, but you'll find you have the same issues as before.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm aware of the law regarding getting the fronts done. Had it done on my previous car and had no run in's with the filth for 6 years and counting.

I know what you're saying about the tinting, I'm a tightwad so am always looking for the best quality for the best price :biglaugh:

Finally got the money together to book this in, currently with http://www.automotivetint.co.uk/
Will report back in a day or so..... oh and he doesn't do fronts other than the legal spec, bit disappointed to find that out when I got there, must have misunderstood somewhere along the line as I had front and rear done on previous car. I guess the motorway closure and 2 hour journey there didn't help my mood, fingers crossed for a top job.

I know this post is a bit old but I just had mine done by Car window tinting specialists - Pentagon Auto Tint (http://www.tintyourglass.co.uk). Pricey but did a fantastic job. Even collected and returned the car as I was local.

So if anyone is looking for someone in Berkshire I would definitely recommend them
