Hi People

:aargh4: my A6 2.5tdi quattro has just failed the MOT on the rear brakes.
so now i need to put in new pads
its a 1996 C4 platform ( i think :Blush2:...... looks like the 100 )

can any body tell me if the pistons in the rear brake calipers are the wind in ones that require a special tool?

similar to the ones on VW golf / corrado's etc ( they certainly look similar)

and if i do need the tool where can i get one cheap from?

Cheers

Quote form the manual for your model, Yes it requires a screw back tool.

‒ → Screw piston by turning knurled wheel of special tool 3272 clockwise.Note:
<LI class=nonenone>◆ Fit special tool 3272 so that the collar of the tool is seated against the brake carrier.
◆ If the piston is pushed back with a piston resetting tool the automatic adjustment in the brake caliper will be destroyed.Regards Peter
