the worst thing was the RAC took 2 1/2 to get some one to me even though they said "someone will be with you within 30 minutes sir" ...... i was 10 miles from their control centre on the M6 ...... shocking!

the car will arrive back at the selling dealership this morning.....

once i have news i'll post it up

they seem to have found the problem......

faulty ecu causing the 5v rquired for all sensors showing too high a voltage..... a new ecu is en route from germany should arrive wednesday.....

until then......

new ecu...... didn't make a blind bit of notice..... so progress after 2 weeks now is Zero, they can't find the problem...... how long should you give them before rejecting it? i think they've had enough time now

I wouldn't blame you if you did reject it. Might be worth reading these posts on the Touareg website - lots of good info about the correct procedure to adopt for a formal rejection.

type in the single word - rejecting -

thanks for the info, been down this road efor 3 years earlier when we bought 2 x A6 s on had a problem on delivery so we rejected it and after a few threats they gave in and ordered a new one....

Monday is D day i'll prepare the letter over the week end and fire it off on monday. saddens me really as the battle i'm going to have will be ugly, as Audi CS are nowhere near as helpfull as they were 3 years ago. Here's hoping....

It's going to take alot to restore my faith in the brand.... reason i went for the Q7 is because of the problems everyone seems to experience with Range Rovers.....

they've given up on trying to fix it....... they've agreed to order a replacement..... now the wait.....

You'll probably enjoy the V6 so much you'll wonder why you went for a V8;)

Seems like your dealership service recovery is better than their service - just as well!!

golftouran

went for the V8 because of towing race trailers more power and torque.... previously experienced towing with v6 tdi A6's weren't really up to the job,

garage has acted well as this is the second time we've had a car changed in 3 years, we had a problem with 1 of our A6's on day one and they ended up changing it, so i tink the embarrassment factor is high seing this is the second pair of new cars we've bought from them and one needs to be reordered...

And Audis do the transport!

Ha!! We had a good look at the cars in your display - to be honest the Spiders hadn't registered in my aged brain until this year; don't know how I missed them as they are very sexy. We have a great nephew (6) who is Renault crazy so I took a photo of SWMBO by the racecar for him. His family come to VSCC Prescott but next year I'll get them over for la Vie en Bleu too.

Cheers, Andy

Sounds like a reasonable result. How long have they quoted you for delivery on the new one?

:zx11: was informed a couple of days ago tht i'll have to wait until march for a replacement car..... looks like we'll be returning the second car of the pair and buying somewhere else as the service we've received just isn't good enough compared to the amount of money we've spent. i've since sent an email to Audi customer service in Germany as a last resort attempt to get the situation resolved....

looks like i won't be buying another Audi in the future, the quality and service you'd expect from them just isn't there anymore.

Hard to believe there is a financial crisis! I should have expected another car to be sourced within days by a company like Audi, but they do like to distance themselves from customers, so it's all down to the Audi "centre" you bought from.

Any contact from the fatherland yet?

I received a reply from Audi customer service in Germany on tuesday morning, just to say they'd received my email and will look into it, but nothing concrete as yet....

since then, the good old dealer still perfoming true to form and not returning calls when promised i still don't have a suitable loan car from them, i sent the email informing them we'll be returning the second car and we want our money back last friday, gave the dealer a stay of execution monday, as he said he'd have all the answers and a firm delivery date by wednesday, but nothing again. We can't be bothered with them anymore, the amount of time that's been wasted and still no light at the end of the tunnel so it's time to move on. we originally ordered the 2 cars in March, they arrived in september..... if i wait until march 2011.... it will be nearly 12 months from order to receiving a new car..... wow...

Other factors which have also put me off i have friends which have electronic faults with new Audis ..... an A5 with faults and an A4 with faults in france, also a friend of my parents with a pretty much new car with electronic faults which keeps breaking down in the UK.

Looks like audi isn't the brand to go with at the moment as i've never known them have problems like i've heard of and experienced myself.
time to go and buy an interim tow vehicle and look for something else next year

A left field suggestion - the latest Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011 model is getting very good reviews here (US for the winter). Check Jeep .com and be sure the new one is available in UK

latest update..... after the shock of march delivery for the replacement car.....

refund was the only option..... on both the cars we bought all or nothing in my opinion....
as the second car is probably an electronic timebomb waiting to have a catastrophic failure too.

i was appalled that Audi couldn't be bothered to try and get a replacemnt car much earlier, we've received the money for the dead car in full and we should hopefully recieve the money for the second one today.... we've bought 2 vehicles which will suffice for towing for the time being and i'm glad to see end is close..... 10 weeks later, i've totally lost the faith in Audi and will never recommend them to anyone who's ever thinking of buying one as far as i can see they're pretty much on par with any ordinary brand as far as quality and service goes, i could have easily bought somehing French and had the same headaches for a much smaller outlay.

Plus i received this email the other day..... first contact i've ever had back from Audi CS.....

i was thinking about going to Louis XV Alain Ducasse, Place du Casino Monte Carlo.... it has 3 michelin stars :beerchug:

Dear Mr XXXX

Thank you for your recent email regarding your Audi Q7.

I understand your obvious disappointment that your car broke down after only 215 miles of use and would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to you.

My assistant, XXXXXXX, has been liaising with XXXXXX, Head of Business at XXXXX Audi on my behalf and he has advised that a replacement vehicle was ordered for you, which would be delivered in March 2011. I am also aware that a number of options were offered to you, as a goodwill gesture for this experience.

I am sorry that your understandable loss of faith in your own car and the timescales for delivery of a new Audi Q7, led you to make the decision to return your vehicle and cancel your order of a replacement.

However, I was pleased to learn that XXXX promptly made the necessary arrangements to return any monies owed to you. I am sad that your experience with our Brand has left a bitter taste and do hope that you will, one day, consider Audi again.

Taking all of the above into consideration, I would like you to take your family out for a meal to a restaurant of your choice, at our expense. Please save the receipts and forward them to XXXXXX by email at XXXXXXXXXXX or fax them to 0113 393xxxx and she will be more than happy to arrange a cheque to cover these costs.

Once again, I am sincerely sorry for the circumstances that prompted you to contact us and I wish you all the success with your future endeavours. Thank you kindly for giving me the opportunity to respond.

Yours sincerely

XXXXXXX

Nice offer, but what a pathetic response. No amazing deal to tempt you back and no explanation of their inability to replace your Q7 within a couple of weeks.

Bon appetit!
