Škoda Auto is presenting a comprehensive range of second-generation environmentally-friendly GreenLine cars at the 2010 Paris International Motor Show. For the Yeti crossover and the Superb Estate, the introduction of ecological technology means two world premieres. Škoda Auto offers modern engines and new technologies across the entire model range as part of its attempts to minimise the car industry’s impact on the environment. The second-generation GreenLine models incorporate innovative technological solutions such as a start-stop system and braking energy recuperation.

The 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp (Octavia, Yeti and Superb) and 1.2 TDI CR 75bhp (Fabia and Roomster) engines use the latest technology to make them as economical as possible. Like all other diesel engines offered by Škoda Auto, they are equipped with diesel particulate filters (DPF). Both engines offer smooth, quiet running and dynamic handling. The engine units are economical and flexible thanks to supercharging and direct fuel injection; while the harmonious torque curve enables both a sporty and a comfortable ride.

Design measures in second-generation GreenLine versions deliver enhanced fuel consumption and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. The Fabia GreenLine and the Fabia Estate GreenLine have combined fuel consumption of 83.1 mpg, with CO2 emissions of 89g/km. The Roomster, a compact MPV, has a consumption of 67.3 mpg, a record in its category. The CO2 emissions are just 109g/km, which is amongst the best in its class.

The Škoda Octavia GreenLine will be available as both a hatchback and an estate. The hatchback version has combined fuel consumption of 74.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km; while the Estate achieves a figure 67.3 mpg with CO2 emissions at 109g/km. These figures make the Octavia GreenLine one of the most environmentally-friendly cars in its segment.

The Yeti GreenLine proves that a crossover vehicle can be economical, with combined fuel consumption of 61.4 mpg (119g/km of CO2). The trademark performance is not compromised as the Yeti GreenLine remains a very agile car. It accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 12.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 109 mph.

GreenLine versions are also offered on the range-topping Škoda Superb and Superb Estate. Both versions have combined fuel consumption of 64.2 mpg, with CO2 emissions of 114g/km.

With the introduction of the second-generation GreenLine models, Škoda Auto has provided the latest in environmentally-friendly technology, offering eight versions covering the entire model range.
