As far as I know, they are all UR's, it's a german word that roughly translates as 'original'
the early engines were 2144cc and after 1986(?) 2226cc. I forget which was WR and MB. There was also an RR engine, in a few 1990 models which is the 20v 2226cc.

Hi, I'm new on here, but thought I'd put my bit in!
The wr came first, followed by the mb and then the 20v RR.
You're looking to pay £5000 for a good wr, £7500 for a mb and £12 for a RR.You can buy cheaper, but it'll cost you big time! I've had a mb for 2 years now and I've got to warn you all they cost an arm and a leg to run, and you cant get the parts! Find a good one, get it inspected (Phil Payne is your man- just google him, or have at look at his website in the sticky) and start putting money away for repairs (£2k a year?) Have a look at www.quattroforum.com for more advice. They are fantastic though and I wont be selling mine for a long time yet!

cheers for the advice guys :beerchug:

i'd love a 20v RR but i'll have to start saving for one of those i rekon.

£2k a year for parts is a lot! won't be doing too many miles if i get one then.

Didn't want to scare you lol! Theres plenty that don't cost that- but that was the advice from a quattro specialist I spoke to. And guess what? mine cost nothing the first year and since Christmas £4500!!!! Worth every penny though- and i use it every day.

thats typical hehe.

i've a feeling my A6 is going to do that to me soon.

still not put off though, seen a really nice one on pistonheads, i'll just have to get the corrado finished to fund it.
