I was going to upgrade my bulbs and was wondering what people would recommend. I posted a while back and I bought the Osram nightbreakers for dips and mains, and the Osram 501's for the sides. Recently my 501's have gone and I was looking at a few threads regarding using LED's as the sidelights.

I was wondering exactly what I can use for my sides and whether they would fit with my Osram nightbreakers.

I was looking and quite fancy these: Autobulbs Direct (http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-LED-Super-Bright-White-1W-pair.html?reviews=all)
Will they work, I don't need any extra bits or anything do I? Will they go with the nightbreakers? Don't want them to bright and out of place.

I'm really happy with the nightbreakers and love the performance.

Just a bit confused with all the bulbs that are on offer. Heard stories of people melting housings and such as a result of fitting bulbs with too high a wattage.

Any help would be great. Cheers.

christ thats alot of cash  ive had some led bulbs but they played up with the canbus so i went back to normal 501s, i wanted to get some whiter bulbs as they look silly being yellowish along side my white HID dips, if you do get them can you post up what there like please

Yeah I had heard that there might be issues with the canbus. I'm not all that clued up on the canbus stuff so might give them a miss then. Just get the Osram 501's I had before.

Yeah definitely post pics. At the minute I just have the original factory 501's in and I was out a while ago in the car, I was parked up in quite a dark street and the factory 501's are totally crap. The Osram 501's are really much, much better. I didn't realise the difference.

Now that the nights are darker I will definitely get some pics, even just to have a good look myself. Being in Scotland, the nights don't really get that dark during the summer so now is the time to have a look.

They look the part. So they don't need any special stuff then, just a straight forward swap? Do you have the Osram Nightbreakers as dips and mains? Just wondering if the 501's would fit in with them?

Coolio I'll just go ahead and order them. They look like they'll go with the nightbreakers.

You can let Gil know to expect an order from Scotland later today.

I was thinking of buying these 501's

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330415228280&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I too have the Osram Nightbreakers and eventhough when you look at my headlights head on they look white but when you look at the road the light is yellow..

Does anyone know how to install the interior bulb? i cant seem to take the plastic cover thingy off to locate the bulb..also has anyone got any bulb recommendations for the interior?

Hey there, here is a post I added to regarding interior leds / rear leds and headlight / foglight bulbs etc etc.
I used Sportzring 80/100 watt bulbs for a great bright white look and can report NO problems whatsoever around a year or so on:approve:

Anyhow, hope it helps:beerchug:

Me me me I do Lmao

Rear ones easy just feel round the edges and pull off the cover. Just pull out the 501s and replace

Front one you will need a torx and small flat head screwdriver (i used a presicion one) Use the flat head to remove the grill like cover near the sun glasses holder.

Now use the torx screws and then the whole thing slides out. Unplug the connector. Middle bub just slides in and out and the 501s require an anti clockwise turn to remove and clockwise to slot back in

For the front you will need 2 x 501 and 1 x dome 8 for the middle (rears are just 501s)

For the number plate you will need 2 x dome 8 bulbs.

I changed mine yesterday and have standard 8 dome in the interior and halfords own super blue 501s. Getting some white leds for number plate today after my windscreen has been fitted

I have Philips Blue Vision 4000k in the dip beam with matching Philips 4000k 501's.

At 4000k they are around the same colour as OEM hid's. Philips claim + 30% brightness. They are brighter than standard bulbs but not quite as good as night breakers.

I have Osram Night Breakers in the high beam units.

Cheers
