Hi,

I have a sharan 2.0, X Reg.

EPC light come one every now and then espcially after driving the car for a bit then stopping and then moving on, I start to get the EPC light.

I also got the Engine Managment light come on.

I ran Vag-Com and there were few error, I cleared all but the belwo one will not go away:

17852 - Potentiometer for EGR (G212): Implausible Signal P1444 - 35-00 - -

I have not driven the car since I clear the codes to confirm if any of the other codes will return.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

Regards

Charbel

Three questions:

1- How do I get my car recoded? (my understanding is that this eliminates the need to reenter the security code if power was lost). The radio has been replaced with same original VW version).

2- The engine management light is now always on due to :

16497 - Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42): Signal too High
P0113 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
The MAF is about 2 years old.

3- As in my first post, when I start the car after a small journey the EPC light shows up when accelerating. It shows up for a bit and then goes away. (I have previously replaced the brake light switch but no change). Could this be related to:

17852 - Potentiometer for EGR (G212): Implausible Signal
P1444 - 35-00 - -

Here is the scan:

Check your wiring to the plug at the MAFS. I've seen them break where the wiring joins to the main loom.
