Having had the car about a year now, the only minor irritation I have since buying it is, if the car ever stalls you get no warning lights(143, diesel).:(

I work offshore half the year or drive the wife's nissan note so having to use 1st gear at any speed less than about 13mph, I still occassionally forget about.

Other than that great car.

I have a A4 Avant 2.0 SE executive.

It was more a statement as to the fact it's so highly geared where as in most cars you can drive at say 5-10mph in 2nd with my Audi you have to use first, this also made it not that great in snow, where you want to pull away in 2nd for instance.

As for the lights, any other car that has stalled you usually get a face full of red warning lights, brakes, ignition etc.

Good luck driving a 2.0 Diesel at 5mph in second gear!

Sorry mate you are quite right, the only way to tell is that if the engine has no revs, youve stalled....

Plus a distinct lack of response to the accelerator pedal!

If my 2.0D ever stalls, it restarts all by itself - must be the Stop/Start gizmos.
