can you keep in mind that this is a family forum please.

as for your bulbs, I've used phillips and osram and they're all much of a muchness, I'd expect to pay around £15/20 for some decent bulbs. You will undoubtedly see an improvement.

Are your headlights 'conventional' reflectors, or projectors?

I've got conventionals on the A3, and they're better than the projectors on the A6.

If the lenses or reflectors are cloudy / dirty, the this will affect the light output, and you may be able to clean them.

If you've got projectors, then you may have luck with a hid conversion, but I think that reflector lights tend to have too much light scatter with hids, and dazzle other people.
