exhaust compatibility

I would like to know if a M reg 1.8 single point injection exhaust system will fit on a P reg single point injection 1.6?

iirc the bore diameter is the same so id say yes it will

so the layout is exactly the same then?

The only reason I am asking such an odd question is that i have a straight through system on my car at the moment and it's a little too loud for my liking and I have the chance to pick up a full 1.8 single point system really cheap.

so I am just worried that they might not be the same layout.
