Hi,
All of a sudden all the controls on my drivers door have stopped working. :aargh4:
The drivers window is stuck halfway down, electric window switches don't work, electric mirror switch doesn't work & the interior light was on as if the doors were open (I turned this off).

Is this the comfort control module playing up & if so where about's in the car will I find this?

How can I get the window to go up, even a temporary fix would do.

Check the cable between the door and "A" pillar for breakage,

Does this apply to the A4 as well as a Passat:

Did you peel the rubber boot back and carefully inspect the wiring? however with so many things going kaput it could be the module, its under the front passenger seat.

Comfort control module & wiring look perfect, as does wiring entering door:zx11:

Scan the car for faults.

Turned out to be broken wires at the door after all,I just didn't check closely enough.
Thanks to all.
I'm a bit disappointed with this, I thought an Audi was supposed to be a quality car???

I have a small problem with the O/S electric window. The car was in Preston Audi this morning for something else and I asked them to check the window fault.
They said the wiring from the pillar to the door required repair, quoted 2 hours labour = £205.00

Ouch!!

What were they going to solder it with? Gold?

It's funny because when I was waiting for my car I was amazed at the number of staff walking about. There were lots, including quite a lot of nice ladies. I wondered to myself how much it costs for all these people and what the margin is on new cars.
When I got the repair quote I relaised how they afford all the staff...£102.50 per hour labour rate

Take the door trim off, also take the trim off and door rubbers at the bottom of the "A" post, lift the carpet up and trace the wires from the door to a connector so you have both ends of the loom loose, then get hold of a multimeter and do a continuity test on each wire in turn, whilst moving it.
