Rear Aero Wiper

Hi, does anybody know if the rear wiper on a sharan is a special one (Aero ?) because I have fitted a standard wiper but it only wipes about two thirds of the rear screen...

Is the wiper blade too short or is the motor not rotating it far enough?

The blade is 18" standard and completes a full sweep but only the bottom two thirds of the wiper actually wipes the windscreen, where the windscreen curves near the top the wiper seems to lose contact with the windscreen.

Did you replace the whole arm or just the blade? It sounds like the arm spring has relaxed - my alhambra had the same problem and the back screens on those cars are really curved.

You might be able to fit an aero arm - curved is what they do best.

Thanks for your help, but I solved the problem by buying a Genuine VW rear wiper blade, apparently the Bosch blades are too rigid and when it reaches the windscreen curve near the top it just stays straight and does'nt wipe properly, also the genuine blade was £3.00 cheaper than the bosch one, I'm very interested in the Aero idea though and am looking into getting a new arm...:beerchug:
