I recently had a Turbo pipe blow off whilst accelerating. The sound was like someone bursting a paper bag followed by very erratic revs and the engine sounding like a bag of spanners - and quite a bit of black smoke coming out of the exhaust. Had to get the car towed and my local dealer fixed it in a matter of minutes.
If this occurs again, is it an easy job to get the pipe back on? I'm not sure which pipe came off but it cannot be that difficult to find once one knows where to look.
It's a 55 2.0 TDI by the way, I'm not too keen on doing my own work but for the cost of a few tools I'm sure any information on this matter would help me and a lot of other users save some money. I don't have a Haynes manual but will look out for one next time I'm in Halfords.
