Gotta get new rubber on my A4 tomorrow afternoon. Rang my local tyre place who's always been pretty good. I've currently got Avon ZV3's on which I've got on alright with and they suggested the Kuhmo's. Said they're the same kinda mid-range tyre but might be a bit grippier. Anybody got any good or bad things to say about them?

Avon tyres will be the better tyre to go for as its in the same price bracket as Kumho's. Alot of Avon's are made in England as opposed to Korea. Avon grip will vastly improve when you get them warmer, Will outperform Kumho throughout.

I'm of the other opinion! Kumho (http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Kumho/) make some great tyres, but the flagship Avon ZZ3 (http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Avon/ZZ3.htm) generally gets poor reviews.

The KH17 is more a touring tyre than ultimate sports tyre, so I guess it depends on your application.

Well, its on my '96 A4 Avant 1.8 as an everyday tyre so no need for anything special, just nothing cheap and crap!

Well I've had em on for a couple weeks now and they're ok, they do feel different to the Avons for sure, I cant say less grip, just different. I'd say I do get noticably more feedback from the Kuhmo's though.
