I have done 13500 miles and both of my front tyres are smooth on the insides only, the wear pattern across the rest is wavy and fine on the outside of the tyres. Tyre pressures are all OK and I don't rag it (often).
The tyre place said " all modern cars do it mate" fortunately its a company car but still weird.

My wife's Seat Leon 170bhp has gone though 3 sets of fronts in 23K and no she does not rag it (I sometimes do :).

This was one of the reasons I took the full service with tyres on my 170bhp CC. I think the extra for tyres was less than the cost of one tyre per year especially if you want to keep the run on flat ones.

Just under half worn on the front coming up to 7k. That's on a par with my B6 saloon. Wear on the CC is consistent across the tread whereas on the B6 it tended to be heavier in the centre for all the tyres I tried.

Thinking I shall swap front & rear at 10k and then get a whole new set at 20k. Definitely not Contis. Probably Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrics which were far and away the best on the B6 or might try Michelin Pilot Sport PS3s.

After last winter I've sourced a spare set of wheels and some Nokian M+S tyres so I shan't have to put up with the Contis in winter again.

15000 and the fronts are down to the min wear markers.
Even wear across the tread.
Rears still have plenty of meat and the CC doesn't spin away from roundabouts like my saloon did so it must just be nose heavy going into corners.
I do throw it about sometimes.

It may not help, but wear on one side is usually either tracking or camber (I seem to remember that you get feathering with incorrect camber but could be wrong). My old (96) Passat suffered until I had it fully checked out at a VW agency. The tyre "specialists" don't normally do a full alignment (inc camber) test and most suggested it didn't need doing! All the VW's I've had could have the camber adjusted (most makes couldn't).

Mind you, I never got more than 15K out of the Passat's front tyres - I tried various makes - until I had a set of Michelin Energy (the earlier ones) - even the later ones (EA1 and the newer "Energy") were worn at 15K.

On the B6 I got 15k from the factory fitted Pirelli P Zero Rossos. Not a tyre I could recommend. Next up Michelin Primacy HP which lasted 20k despite having a starting tread depth of 7mm rather than the more usual 8mm and were considerably better all round than the Pirellis. Then the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrics which lasted 15k but were a superior product in every respect and as a bonus their cheaper purchase price made them cost comparable with the longer lasting Michelins.
