A friend is looking at an A4 tomorrow and the advertisement states it has the HDD Sat Nav (Tech Pack High).

He was wondering when the HDD System was released as the car was registered in September 2008. I thought it came out in 2009 sometime?

Any ideas?

Call Audi CS on 0800699888
Give them the car reg no. and they will tell you what options were fitted at the factory.

If memory serves, MMI 3G HDD was introduced on the B8 in late 2008, so it's possible the car could be one of the early models. The easy way to tell is to look at the MMI rotary wheel - if it has the nipple on top, it is the HDD system.

Turned out it did have the HDD and he bought the car this morning! Its good looking car I must admit. Looks good in Monza Silver.

I'll give you a thanks when I get back on the computer MF as I'm on tapatalk now!

Are you absolutely sure about that? MMi 3G & HDD became available to order on A5's in late 2008 whereas on the A4 it was from the 2010MY. The reason why I recall this is that we specifically waited before ordering our A4 to get the MMi 3G.

Definitely sure because I rang Customer Services, gave them the reg of the car and they read out to me what the car was fitted with from the factory and the car had the secondary scroller on top of the main MMI scroll wheel.
