Hi Kus

I too have an A3 170 TDI. I drive mainly in town and even though I am sometimes heavy footed, I usually achieve around 32mpg. I consider this good economy from quite a nippy car.

Quattro will eat into economy, and the 170PS engine is happy to put a lot of fuel in when you put your foot down at high revs.. so it sounds about right. You could probably get a bit more with driving style adjustments, keeping to the speed limit on motorways, using cruise control etc. I get 55mpg from my non-quattro 140PS engine out of town.

I have a 2008 170 TDI, my daily commute is approx. 25 mile round trip on mix of Dual carriageway, A and B roads and I seem to average around 37mpg or 430-450 miles from a tank. I do put my footdown on the dual carriageways so maybe mines doing well? On a recent long trip on motorways and A and B roads I averaged 50 mpg and got 580 out of the tank.
