Hello all,

As per my introduction thread, I have just got my first car as mentioned above, its 13 years old so obviously needs stuff doing to it, hopefully, so far, only little bits!

Anyway the following is what I am looking to replace, and hopefully myself,

Gear stick and Handbrake Gaiter
Gear stick knob (preferably original or something none to flashy and in black)
Handbrake handle

Mainly due to wear for all the above. Now I was wondering if anyone has any or knows of any guides that show/ describe how to do the above and whether anyone can recommend anywhere to buy the parts?

Thats the main stuff at the moment, the rest of the car seems to be technically sound.

Cheers in advance,

Sam

Given the age of the car and your insurance premiums (!) I'd go for eBay / breakers to save money.

Gaiters / handbrake handle - link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEAT-IBIZA-CORDOBA-93-99-LEATHER-GEAR-HANDBRAKE-GAITOR-/250683301113?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM)

Gearstick Knob & gaiter - link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-SEAT-IBIZA-93-1999-GEAR-KNOB-STICK-LEATHER-/170515339811?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM)

Part numbers if you'd like to get OEM (dealership) prices;

Handbrake handle / gaiter - 6K0711461A

Gearstick knob - 6K0711141G

Gearstick gaiter/boot - 6K0711115G 9PV

Gearstick - linky (http://autopartmaster.com/image/cat/seat/image.aspx@mdl=242&unit=3D400CE9)

Double check all part numbers before parting with any cash for obvious reasons.

Good luck!

Cheers for that Mycar.

I had seen this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEAT-IBIZA-CORDOBA-1993-99-GEAR-HANDBRAKE-GAITER-NEW-/290394836872?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM which I thought looked like a good deal, but if I could get the gear stick knob and gaiter in one and its in good condition, then I may go for that, but I don't know yet, there is always the lure of buying something shiny for the car.

I get the car tomorrow, then will order the gaiters and such when I have the car so I can see just how bad the damage is.

Shopping, shopping, shopping is ohh so much fun!
