Hello

I have an Audi 80 TDI diesel 94. I need some paint repair work done. Where can I find the code in the car. Looked every where.

Thanks.

It should be on a paper label in where the spare wheel goes in the boot

Thank you for that reply. Had a look there, didn't see anything, may have just gone in time.

Thanks again.

If you have the service book the same sticker is inside the front cover, look for the line with paint/trim

Other than that what colour is it? eg solid red would probably be Laser Red:

Sadly I don't have the service book.

It says it's red on the log but looks purple to me, definitely metallic.

This is it

Apparently red. Someone my have the same coloured car. Or near to it.

That link is very helpful thank you.

I'm fairly sure the dealers could tell you the colour just from your reg or maybe chassis number. A good bodyshop or paint factors should be able to match it up from their colour chits, There can only be a few VAG purples to choose from! It does not help when they call them something like 'Byzanz', I have feeling 'mulberry' is also purple...

It also doesn't help when they name purple red. Nearst I have got is RUBIN RED PEARL ( LZ3N) or HIBISKUS RED PEARL ( LZ3L)

I think the Hibiskus red is about the nearest.

That looks identical to mine, which is Rubin (LZ3N).

Obviously I don't know how similar the other one is to it or what your cameras' settings are, so don't hold me to that!

Whoever you're buying from may be able to match against the reg.

Rubin is the other one it could have been. If yours looks like mine I'll go with that. As long as it's near.

One of the wheel arch is starting to rust through and I need to do something sharpish.
