I have just bought an Audi A4 (Avant) 2.0 TDI registered in May 2008. It is 2 years old (registered May 2008) and I have asked the Audi dealer about the Cam belt replacement etc. They tell me the car has a timing chain rather than a cambelt so it does not need replacing and is covered during normal maintenance inspections and services.

This doesn't seem to be consistent with what I have seen on google etc!

I wanted to know if the car is actually fitted with a timing chain or a cam belt and was sure someone on here would know!

Thanks in adavance for any help you can provide.

Cambelt. I'd ditch your dealer and find one who know what the are talking about.
