3.0 TDI Service Confusion

Arriving home from work, the A4 announced it needs servicing in 1600 miles.

This has confused me, as it was serviced at 19515 miles - including an oil change This was the first service, so looked about right to me.

It's now at 26912. Does it really need fresh oil every 9000 miles?

Previous A4's have gone 20k ish miles between oil changes?

Has the dealer forgotten to reset the counter?

I'd ring the dealer, but he's gone home :)

Looks like the dealer set the car to fixed servicing ie 1yr or 10K

Hi the new service regime as of 2008 has changed alot with various options and there are two service warning indicators
1 is the oil and 2 is additional items ie pollen filter, air filter fuel filter.

so at 19515 both interval should have been adjusted but suspect the second was reset correctly but the oil service was not unless you have a very high thermal soot content
