Door Mirror

Returned to the car in Sainsburys to find the drivers door mirror had been hit and pushed forward trashing the black plastic parts. Would you believe it the glass didn`t break. Of course no note left, luckily no other damage to the body.

My question is, does anybody know if I can just purchase the black plastic parts of the mirror before I visit the VW dealer who will no doubt want to sell me a whole mirror unit ?

Yes you can. Had one replaced, along with the painted cap last March after a little event during the excessive January weather conditions.

On the invoice its called a Driver's side mirror turn signal moulding. Its part no.is 3C8949102A and it cost £22.15; a damn sight less than the unpainted cap.

Thanks for the help, got the bits and for the info of any other unfortunate person the part numbers are

1. Indicator section 3C8949102A £18.85 plus VAT
2. Black surround 3C8857602A £5.29 plus VAT

That is so much cheaper than my BMW
