it seems i'm having the fairly common issue of the drivers door thinking it is always open. it's causing alarm issues and i am wondering if anyone has any experience of removing the lock to clean or replace?
i can get the door card off and the black sub-panel but need some advice on how to remove the locking mechanism - does the window regulator have to come out too?
annoyingly the haynes manual isnt out for a few more weeks!
there's a lot of stuff written online about this issue but i cant find a how-to that relates to my model (04 plate a3).
Audi want £82 to diagnose and nowhere will entertain the idea of replacing the lock without extortionate diagnostics charge.
is this fixable or do i have to give in to the s tealers and replace the whole lock rather than cleaning a switch up?
if there is anyone with VCDS who is in the leicestershire area and could help with a diagnosis please message me.
