Hi A3 peps,

This is the first time I have bought new alloys for my '96 A3 8L (just cant handle the posh hubcaps anymore).

I have found a set of alloys online from a 2001 TT. These are the deets that are on the item... 7J x 16 H2 ET 31

I am told that they should fit the early A3's but would like to check with you knowledgeable lot before I buy them.

I have found this comparison site... and it shows this.

A3 96 to 03 5x100 38 to 42 57.1

TT 99> 5x100 25 to 42 57.1

Its the offset that I am concerned about. In the post it gives ET31 for the wheels....

Any advice would be very much appreciated as I dont want to have a dud set of wheels on my hands... Thanks a bunch in advance!! :)

This is the Item link....
I have now purchased them. Do you think they are a good deal?

Many thanks,
Kyle

With an ET 0f 31, your wheels will be 7mm closer to the suspension than standard.

Since it's an Audi wheel, I doubt you'll have problems, but check for clearance of the suspension and brake calipers by hand before driving the car. If you do have clearance problems, that you'll need a set of 7mm hub-centric spacers for them.

Thanks for shedding some light Nick... .

OK.... hmmm

Is it likely that the 7mm will make a sever difference to the handling. or for example.. if i fill the car with 4 mates lowering the car will it rub?

Would thinner tyres make a difference (albeit a harsher ride)....

Cheers, Kyle
