Overheating and oil temp.

Hi everyone, my 98 110 TDI Sharan is starting to run slightly hot in that the temp gauge is going over the halfway point but does drop back down when the fans kick in. Having read through various posts I feel that it might be the pump that is going faulty.
My question is that the oil temp is running at up to 102c before dropping down to about 90c, is this ok short term until I get it fixed as I'll be going on a long run next weekend and I don't know if the garage will be able to look at the car before then.
